I'm a new graduate of one of the major MT schools. For my schedule I just need a very small, part-time MT job--preferably 1 to 2 hours per day. Not asking for much! I have other things on my plate, and this is all I can handle right now.
I've applied many places, but it seems they all want at least 20 hours per week. Yes, I've tried Sten-Tel and On The Mark, but same story. Some companies have said anything less than 20 hours per week is not cost effective for them. I don't live anywhere near a hospital or clinic that would accept newbies. I'm just not sure what to do or even if I should keep applying, but I'm trying to stay positive. I had no idea small MT jobs would be so hard to find!
Is it even possible to find a company that would allow a newbie to do things like a tiny amount of overflow work or such? Is general transcription any better? (I had heard most general transcription reports are long, however.) If you have suggestions, great--I would appreciate that. Many thanks.
