I agree that when I go back over my report to proof it, this makes me do less lines per hour. I find that when doing VR, words are there that I didn't see when I was following the cursor. So definitely I have to go back over these reports. I occasionally have to go back through straight transcription reports too just to research unfamiliar terms. They would rather have a correct report, than just the required lines that day.

I used to type over 2000 lines a day. Loved the money but too much work, being the only transcriptionist for up to 8 physicians. 1500- 1600 was really pretty ideal. I now only do about 1000 lines but would like a few more. Times are hard for private physicians in my very rural area. Most have now been hired by the local hospital, who either ships out their dictation or has the physicians do their own EMR. I charge 14 cents/line and I don't print out anything - just send it back to the doc's office to print. I think I'm average for this area and know of one transcriptionist who charges 15 cents/line.

I charge .16 cents per line, but this includes printing, originals and copies, as well as envelopes, picking up and dropping off twice a week. I think they are getting a deal. Takes a lot of time sometimes, especially when one will have three or four copies.

I have another I do at 12 cents but it is digital and I have a template and only have to add to it. No drop off/pick up or printing.

I am in TN :D
