MT going rate per line

Postby nhernandez » Mon Sep 28, 2009 11:05 am

I recently started working PT as an MT for a startup company out of Las Vegas. They are paying 2 cents per line. I recently received my first pay check for May through July and was very surprised at how little I was paid. What is the average pay rate per line for an MT? By the way I have yet to start MT work, have been doing all QA because they do not have time to train me. I also have a concern because I can go weeks without any work and then all of a sudden be bombarded with 20+ files in 1 day as the person is too busy to send anything out. It does not appear to be a very dependable company.

I think 8 cpl is the norm, but clinic visits and doctor's offices usually pay less.

I get $.07 per line working at home for a private company. This rate includes ALL lines in a file, not just 65-character lines.

I used to work for a company out of Las Vegas, as well. Sounds very similar to my experience. Email me some time if you get a chance, we can talk :D There are reputable companies out there. I can help there too. Drop me a line.

I have a small home based transcription business in California. I provide radiology transcription for a hospital at 15 cents per line and a medical clinic at 12 cents per line.

2 cents per line does not sound like enough

.02 PER LINE IS REDICULOUS TO THE POINT OF INSULT.

I would never work for 2 cents a line. :o Good luck, I would be looking for something new though.
